Food is one of the most accessible portals into a more abundant life.
It invites us to slow down, pay attention, connect to one another, and consider the many relationships that sustain us.

HOW I WORK
More than
a meal
Food is a little bit of everything all at once. It's nourishment and pleasure, chemistry and artistry, cultural memory and creative possibility. We need it to survive, but we've also spent thousands of years transforming it into one of our most expressive ways of caring, celebrating, gathering, and making meaning.
My work lives somewhere in that delicious space between necessity and imagination.
I approach culinary events as one part of a larger experience. The menu, setting, season, story, people, pacing, and little moments of surprise all shape what happens around the table.
Tell me what you're imagining. We'll figure out what the food wants to become.

Selected Past Events
Projects, gatherings &
shared tables
Every gathering has its own purpose, rhythm, and story. These are a few glimpses into the kinds of experiences I've had the privilege of helping bring to life.
Producing high-scale events
The Julia Child Award Dinner Series
As the Event Manager for the Julia Child Foundation’s 10-Year Anniversary Award Series, I led the production of a nationwide dinner series celebrating past award recipients.Traveling across the country, I curated and coordinated special dining experiences that highlighted the legacy of Julia Child, which culminated in the 10th Anniversary Food History Gala & Award Ceremony at the Smithsonian Museum of American History.
Co-Creating Experiences
Collaborations,
Pop-ups & Pairings
These events live at the intersection of food, art, and intention. Each gathering begins with a central theme, using food as a medium to explore ideas spanning art, science, ecology, storytelling, and the living world. These are immersive, often interactive experiences where I step in as both chef and creative producer, designing unique menus that reflect the story, setting, or spirit of the moment--and no two are alike! Past collaborators include: Merlin Shelldrake, Poncili Creation, Joanna Herr, and Farm to People
Hosting Community Gatherings
Supper Clubs & Themed Dinners
Immersive dinners rooted in curiosity, creativity, and play — part performance, part dinner party. Tile Table Supper Club, a beloved collaboration with Chef Izzy Kagan, explored themed menus inspired by film, culture, and art, and brought opera, tightropes, and carnival treats to the table. Though Tile Table has since retired, the spirit of shared creativity lives on in the newly launched Cookbook Club — a potluck-style dinner party where we cook from a shared book, taste each other’s creations, and celebrate diverse cuisines and voices.

"Simone makes the most complex events feel effortless. She’s incredibly organized, thoughtful, and always ten steps ahead. She keeps everyone informed, on cue, and on time, while bringing so much warmth to guests and collaborators alike. She has an amazing eye for design, impeccable style, and is simply someone you want by your side when bringing an event to life."
My path & practice

A life shaped by food, hospitality &
gathering
Cooking has been one of the quiet constants in my life.
Long before I studied herbs or nutrition, I was drawn to the way a thoughtfully prepared meal could transform a room. I found joy in cooking for friends, creating beautiful tables, and watching conversations unfold around shared meals.
Over the years, that curiosity led me down many different paths, each one eventually weaving together into the unique practice I offer today. Whether I'm preparing meals for a retreat, designing a seasonal menu, or sitting with someone to explore herbs and everyday nourishment, I'm guided by the same belief: that food has the power to help us feel more connected—to ourselves, to one another, and to the living world around us.

Food as relationship
Every meal begins
long before the kitchen
Cooking may be an art, but its materials come from living systems. Every ingredient carries a story of soil, water, labor, culture, season, and the people who grew, raised, harvested, transported, and prepared it.
For me, creative cooking means paying attention to that story—not only to how food is plated, but how it arrived on the plate.
The adjacent image depicts the Three Sisters—corn, beans, and squash—a traditional Indigenous companion planting practice in which each plant supports the others' growth. Beyond an ingenious agricultural system, the Three Sisters remind us that nourishment is rooted in relationship, reciprocity, and caring for the land as a living community rather than simply a resource.

One more important thing...

Feeding change through our everyday choices
Nourishment doesn't end
at the table
The choices we make about what we eat ripple far beyond our own bodies. They shape ecosystems, farming communities, local economies, animal welfare, and the future of our food systems. Part of our responsibility is to become advocates for the living world—to lend our voices to the forests, waters, and more-than-human beings who cannot advocate for themselves. To explore this and other stewardship ideas further, I've gathered books, resources, and practical ways to participate in a more thoughtful food system.
